We recognize that military-affiliated students have unique needs, unlike traditional and many non-traditional college students. We assist Veterans, service members, and their families to aid in achieving their personal, professional, and academic goals. Military-affiliated students include Veterans, current military service members (active/guard/reserve), military spouses, dependents, and ROTC cadets.
We support, assist and empower Veterans and military-affiliated students to BE BOLD about their educational pursuits. We are available to help you connect with the resources and networks of support available to you at RIC and within the local community.
Consider the Center your one-stop shop for learning the ins and outs of your GI Bill® Benefits, navigating higher education systems, and finding community as you earn your degree.
The Department of Defense and RIC deeply appreciate the sacrifices made by our veterans, and as such, offer tuition assistance and disabled veteran tuition waivers.

The RIC VA Benefits Certification Worksheet needs to be submitted every semester. RIC's VA Certifying Official will review and process your VA Benefits Certification Worksheet each semester.
Every community owes its existence and vitality to generations from around the world who contributed their hopes, dreams, and energy to making the history that led to this moment. Some were brought here against their will, some were drawn to leave their distant homes in hope of a better life, and some have lived on this land for more generations than can be counted. Truth and acknowledgment are critical to building mutual respect and connection across all barriers of heritage and difference. We begin this effort to acknowledge what has been buried by honoring the truth. We are standing on the ancestral lands of the Narragansett and Wampanoag People. We pay respects to their elders past and present. Please take a moment to consider the many legacies of violence, displacement, migration, and settlement that bring us together here today.
Our mission is to provide accessible higher education of the highest quality to all students.
“As a combat medic, I was the authority on my squad, but I won’t be that as a nurse. Nursing is more team centered, and, at RIC, caring is a culture,” says Sgt. David Fields.
Join us for a Veterans Day Ceremony in honor and recognition of all veterans.
